The CareMore Care Center in Tucson is offering free grief counseling to help older adults deal with their feelings following the Jan. 8 shooting spree.
The counseling sessions, for seniors and retirees, will meet from 11 a.m. to noon Jan. 28, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11 at the CareMore Care Center, 7091 E. Speedway.
"No one in Tucson is left unscathed after the shooting, and our seniors are especially vulnerable," Dan Peterson, CareMore Health Plan Arizona's general manager, said in a press release.
"The significant loss felt in the community may cause anxiety, fear, added stress and even depression to the seniors in the area."
CareMore Care Center is a senior wellness center that focuses on things such as diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease management.
