MARI A. SCHAEFER / ARIZONA DAILY STAR 1988 There was a new place for the under-20 crowd and these dancers were out enjoying the music on Feb. 6, 1988. The Pink Cadillac Cafe had recently opened in the former Tumbleweeds location at 321 N. Fourth Ave. An all-ages club, it had the look of a European discotheque, complete with cage dancers, fluorescent lights and mannequin parts hanging from the ceiling. The Pink Cadillac had live music most of the time, but on Saturday nights, it was DJs and the music of Depeche Mode, New Order and Echo and The Bunnymen.
