Friday is the day to sign up for late summer swim lessons at Pima County pools.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Friday and continues through open pool hours. Go to the pools page for pool addresses and hours.
Options for dates are July 9 through July 19 or July 23 through August 2. Lessons cost $20 for a two-week session (8 classes).
Some kids in Catalina will get free swim lessons, due to a donation from the North Tucson Firefighters Association. Pick up an application for free lessons at the Golder Ranch Fire Administration Office, 3885 E. Golder Ranch Drive, then take the completed application to the Catalina Community Center pool during registration.
