Last night’s storm caused flooding on Tucson’s east side prompting road closures, according to the Department of Transportation.
North Tanque Verde Loop Road is closed at East Tanque Verde Creek this morning; and North Wentworth Road at East Tanque Verde Creek is also closed as of noon.
Rain totals for Wednesday night came close to 2 inches in the area of Saguaro National Park, according to the Pima County Regional Flood Control System.
The Tucson metro area, and Green Valley got less than half an inch of rain during the storm.
The Pima County DOT lists about 25 more areas where motorists should proceed with caution this morning.
