South Camino Verde will be closed at West Valencia Road from through Friday, June 5 for milling and other work, the Pima County Department of Transportation said Thursday.
The closure will let crews mill out the south side of the intersection, install conduits, build up the grade and pave out the intersection, a news release said.
Traffic will be shifted to the north side of the road while work is being performed. Motorists are asked to use Wade Road an alternate route.
The speed limit will be reduced to 25 MPH on Valencia from just west of Mark Road to Camino Verde.
The project improvements will include widening of Valencia from two to four lanes. Bike lanes, drainage improvements, a multi-use path and sidewalks also are included in the project. It is expected to be completed by fall 2016.
