A new bridge for The Loop

Kevin Coyle walks his dog, Ruby, over the newly finished Suzanne Shields Santa Cruz River Pedestrian Bridge along the Chuck Huckelberry Loop, north of East Prince Road. A ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony was held Wednesday. The bridge is named after Shields, who served as director of the Flood Control District from 2005 to 2022, and was key in the development of the popular loop.
