HERMOSILLO, Sonora — The terrorization of Sonoran police agencies continued Tuesday with the killing of two state officers in Cananea and Hermosillo, Sonora.
This followed the slaying of an officer in Hermosillo on Monday.
Also, the headquarters of the Sonora Security Police office in Hermosillo was the target Tuesday of three separate shooting incidents.
Early Tuesday, Officer Hero Arturo Gálvez Acosta, 29, was found on a residential street of Hermosillo, with a knife stuck in his chest. His hands and feet were bound.
A hand grenade was found next to the the body, along with a note of warning directed to state and municipal police pinned to his chest with the knife.
Witnesses said the officer's body was tossed from a gray sedan at about 7:10 a.m. A man got out of the vehicle and fired several rounds into the officer's head.

In Cananea on Tuesday, municipal police Officer Aldo Guzmán Palafox, 34, was gunned down as he patrolled in his vehicle.
On Monday night, judicial police agent Héctor Castelo Arena was shot to death at the offices of the Sonora Attorney General in Hermosillo.
The shootings this week come days after Agua Prieta Police Chief Ramón Tacho was killed in what police suspect was a drug-related shooting.
Sonora Gov. Eduardo Bours Castelo called the attacks an unprecedented threat against authority.
"Never had we seen in Sonora the assassination of police without cause. The executions we had seen were related to a settling of accounts, with infighting between them (criminals)," he said.
