A 19-year-old Tucson man died Saturday night after losing control of his motorcycle on Mount Lemmon, an official said.
Joel Espinosa was southbound on the mountain highway, near milepost 6, when he lost control of his bike and struck a guard rail, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, a spokeswoman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
Despite wearing a helmet, Espinosa sustained head injuries in the wreck, Hanke said.
He was taken to a hospital by helicopter after the crash, which occurred just after 6 p.m., and he died at 9:40 p.m., she said.
