Today, just for grins, I looked up the term "trumped" or "trumped up" on line. I must say the answer did not supprise me. "Trumped" originates from the late 14th century, meaning to deceive or cheat, derived from the Old French word "tromper." It evolved to mean "fabricate" or "devise" by the 1690s, and by the 18th century, it was used to describe something that is false or made up. In 2026 it describes our president. Talk about living up to your namesake! Please, this November, voter like our democracy depends on it, because it does!
