Flower Petals by Varda Main.

Fiber Arts used to be relegated to Women's Craft and synonymous with Grandma's Doilies and Bedquilts. No more.

Today, Fiber Arts are shown in Fine Art Galleries and are the focus of articles in art journals. They are on the wish list of high-end art collectors and even featured in the pages of the New York Times.

Nancy McClusky-Moore and Varda Main (Current President and past President of SaddleBrooke Mixed Media Fiber Arts Club) will take you on a journey from the historical use of Fiber Art to present day. It was initially a craft for producing items to keep people clothed and a means for recording cultural events. Today, they are works of art in galleries and museums. Work samples will be presented along with an overview of the SaddleBrooke Mixed Media Fiber Arts Club.

Come to learn about the evolution of Fiber Arts from craft to Fine Art at the Art Salon at 10:30 a.m. in the Topaz Room of HOA-2 on Wednesday, February 18. Experience a new and exciting art form!
