Friends of Oracle State Park has committed $5,000 to help fund the 2026 Artist‑in‑Residence program after recent changes in state funding created a shortfall. The program, a partnership between Arizona State Parks and Trails and the Arizona Commission on the Arts, immerses Arizona-based artists in the state’s natural environments.
Applications for the 2026 residency closed on February 19, and the selection committee is now reviewing submissions. The Spring 2026 residency begins in late April and provides the selected artist with a stipend, materials budget, housing, workspace, and 24‑hour access to Oracle State Park. In return, the artist will host at least one open studio session and offer public programming.
