On Saturday, January 17, friends and family gathered to celebrate Gary Smith’s 80th birthday in a truly meaningful way. Instead of traditional gifts, Gary invited guests to bring pet food donations to benefit SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network (SBPRN), which supports local rescue groups and shelters across our community.
The response was incredible—more than 160 pounds of pet food were collected, and several friends who couldn’t attend contributed with cash donations to SBPRN in Gary’s honor. The photo attached says it all: generosity, gratitude, and love for animals filled the day.
We’re deeply thankful to everyone who helped make this milestone birthday a celebration of compassion. Gary’s thoughtful idea is a wonderful reminder that birthdays, anniversaries, and special moments can become lasting gifts to animals in need.
A heartfelt thank-you to Gary, Diana, Haley, Kelly Smith, and Rob Corsi for turning an 80th birthday into a beautiful act of kindness for local dogs and cats.
