MANHATTAN, Kansas -- Arizona forward Trey Townsend did not make the trip to Kansas State and will miss his second straight game after suffering a concussion on Feb. 4 at BYU.
The Wildcats started freshman Carter Bryant in his place, as they did on Feb. 8 against Texas Tech.
UA did not respond to a request about Townsend's status and if he made the trip on Monday but when the Wildcats entered Bramlage Coliseum on Tuesday it was clear. UA said then Townsend is continuing to be evaluated.
Since concussion protocols typically require at least a week off the floor, Townsend was not expected to play against Kansas State. Because the concussion is not considered overly severe, Townsend could return on Saturday against Houston.
Townsend hit the back of his head on the floor early in the second half of UA's Feb. 4 win at BYU, and did not return to the game, but did not report symptoms until returning to Tucson.
