Desert Ink Press, a Green Valley-based bilingual children's publisher, has distributed 4,900 bilingual books to 47 organizations serving Native American children across southern Arizona since May.

The books include O'odham pronunciation glossaries and QR codes linking to native-speaker audio, helping families learn the language together.

The Amphi Foundation has been named the inaugural School District Foundation of the Year by the Arizona Educational Foundation, honored Aug. 7 as part of the state's first Arizona Education Hall of Fame.
