Additional copies of books that were removed from Mexican American Studies classes are now available in TUSD libraries.
The books were removed in January after the TUSD Governing Board voted to dismantle the courses amid a threat of losing millions of dollars in funding from the Arizona Department of Education.
In all, seven books were collected from classrooms, boxed up and put into storage.
Some of the books were placed in libraries for student use, but accusations that the district was banning books led to more copies being made available.
There are now 112 copies of the books in school library collections.
