Tucson tech: AdValue's distinctive fast-pulse fiber-optic laser wins top award

Marcus Smith, a glass technician with AdValue Photonics, drills a hole into a block of glass. The optics company won an R&D 100 award for a special fiber-optic laser that is the first of its kind to operate in the mid-infrared wavelength of 2 microns.
