Mrs. Cogswell's draperies are of a sheer fabric and allow sunlight to come into the room without surrendering any privacy. The sofa is upholstered in a quilted, polished cotton and the large French Provincial coffee table features a leather top.

Jim Cogswell's room is large and rectangular with three of the walls white and the fourth and the ceiling a dark slate blue. The same blue is picked up in the big checks of the draperies and the striped of the spreads on the twin beds. Adding a color accent to the room is a bright red easy chair next to the built-in bookshelves.
