Guy Fieri Ate Here: 6 Tucson restaurants featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives
I grew up without air conditioning and cable TV. Whenever we were on the road and staying at a hotel or motel, it was the biggest treat to crank up the A/C and start flicking through bright, shiny channels we didn't get at home. If the stars aligned, "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" would be showing on Food Network.
Once the internet was a thing, but before Yelp was as big as it is today, I'd search what restaurants Guy Fieri had frequented before we'd visit a new city. I still love the show's nostalgic, roadside Americana vibes, even and especially when he departs from the regular rotation of burgers and BBQ.
His choices in Tucson might surprise you — especially with an acclaimed vegetarian spot in midtown that he picked in honor of his sister.
