Detectives from the Tucson Police Department are on scene where nine people were injured in a shooting in downtown Tucson early Sunday morning, July 19, 2026. According to Tucson police, the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. outside of a business in the 100 block of East Congress, near Sixth Avenue, where a number of people had gathered. A confrontation broke out between two groups, resulting in gunfire. A man was taken into custody. (Mamta Popat/Arizona Daily Star)
