The University of Arizona proposed a 2 percent increase in tuition for new students in the 2018-2019 school year and no increase in fees for incoming resident and non-resident students.
Students who will begin attending the UA in the fall would pay $12,447 in tuition, a guaranteed this rate for the next four years. For out of state students tuition would be $36,346.
Friday’s proposed tuition and fee changes does not apply to the more than 95 percent of returning undergraduate students. Their tuition and fees are frozen for four years under the UA’s Guaranteed Tuition program implemented in 2014 and expanded to include fees in 2015.
The Arizona Board of Regents will host public hearings around the state for students and the public to comment on Tuesday March 27, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Old Main Silver and Sage room in Tucson and in the Academic Technology Building, B153 in Sierra Vista.
