Three people died near Safford in southeastern Arizona after a car ran a red light.
The 2005 Chevrolet sedan ran the light around 4:50 a.m. Sunday and crashed into a 1993 Chevrolet van, according to a Department of Public Safety press release.
The sedan then crashed into an abandoned trailer home. Its driver, 20-year-old Vincent Hernandez died at the scene, the release said.
The driver of the van, 43-year-old Patricia Anne Cunningham, also died at the scene. Her passenger, 41-year-old Mark Bradley Phelps, was flown to University Medical Center and died around noon.
A second passenger, 33-year-old Amora Caprice Mueller, also was flown to University Medical Center. Her condition was not available.
All of the victims were residents of Safford.
