NEW YORK - A Mesa couple got married on NBC's "Today" show Friday in front of millions of television viewers.
Jessica Maple and Cody Helgeson were the winners of the "Today Throws a Martha Stewart Wedding" contest.
The "I do's" were exchanged on Rockefeller Plaza. Presiding was Robert Larson, retired senior pastor at Ascension Lutheran Church in Medford, Oregon, where Maple grew up.
The two students traded in their $5,000 homestyle wedding for a much more lavish affair after being selected from more than 10,000 entrants.
Helgeson told the Mail Tribune in Medford that the "rings alone are double" what they were going to spend for the entire wedding.
Viewers picked the couple's dress, ring, cake, reception and honeymoon -- the Seychelles (say-SHELZ') off the coast of Africa. No quibbling. No questions.
