A head-on collision Saturday morning killed three people and injured two others, authorities said.
The crash closed down northbound Arizona 79 for several hours.
The two vehicles collided just before 9 a.m. near Oracle Junction south of Florence, said Officer M.J. McCall, Department of Public Safety spokesman.
Two people died at the scene and the third was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to DPS.
The department won’t release the names of the people who died until their families are notified.
The northbound lanes were reopened just after 1:30 p.m.
