Tucson man gets 25 years in murder case

Bobby Joe Harris, 26, was arrested last November after he came home around midnight and found his girlfriend, Regina Radford, on the couch with Rene Vareles, 21.

Jurors were told that Harris shot Vareles five times after chasing the younger man to his home next door.

Vareles survived, but an uncle who came to his aid, Verle Toro, 19, died after being shot three or four times.

Jurors had been asked to convict Harris of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, but the jury instead convicted him of second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
