A Tucson man who fled on foot from deputies after driving at a high speed and hitting a bush was arrested Saturday.
At about 1:15 p.m., Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies saw 26-year-old Michael Kopp speeding down Bear Canyon Road. Kopp then lost control during a turn and hit a bush before coming to a stop.
He got out of his vehicle and fled into the desert, said Deputy Tracy Suitt, a sheriff's department spokesman, in a news release.
Rincon District deputies began a search for the suspect, who was "running through neighborhood yards to avoid apprehension," the spokesman said.
The search was terminated after two hours with negative results. But about 15 minutes after the search stopped, Kopp was seen running across Harrison Road. After a short search, deputies took him into custody.

He was booked into jail on charges of driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, criminal damage, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass.
