SANTA ANA, Calif. — A former high school teacher in Orange County is free on $50,000 bail and faces charges of having sex with a student and vandalizing his car.
Naomi Perez, of Brea, will be arraigned Monday on three felony counts of sex-related crimes, including unlawful sex. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of vandalism.
The alleged victim is now 18. The relationship was discovered after the youth reported that his car was vandalized Aug. 26 in front of his home.
The 33-year-old Perez taught at Saddleback High School. She was put on paid administrative leave Aug. 28, then suspended without pay and fired Oct. 13.
If convicted, she faces up to four years and four months in prison.
