On Oct. 9, 1979, these folks were trying out their footwork at the Stumble Inn. The dancers were enrolled in Dancing Dan Gaul's four-week speed course in country swing. With the country-swing craze in full force, Gaul hoped to teach the beginners the basics of the four-step and the two-step. Then, wearing their best boots and jeans, the class graduates could step out onto the floor with confidence and dance the night away to the music of such local groups as Chuck Wagon and the Wheels or the Frank and Woody Show.
