UA alumni were back on campus by the thousands on Oct. 28, 1989. It was Homecoming and the University of Arizona Alumni Band was firing up the crowd with their rendition of "Bear Down Arizona." The parade, led down the Mall by Grand Marshall Mary Roby riding in a 1929 Packard, included about 20 floats. Later that evening, the football Wildcats defeated the University of the Pacific 38-14.
