Would you know what to do in an active-shooter situation? If not, police in Tucson have some free advice.
The Tucson Police Department is offering an “Active Shooter, Violent Encounter Personal Preparedness Course” to members of the public at no cost later this month.
The two-hour session is scheduled for Thursday, May 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the department’s west-side location, 1310 W. Miracle Mile.
Topics to be covered include preparedness strategies, potential warning signs and methods to use if confronted with an active shooter, the department said in a news release.
The event, cosponsored by Tucson’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, has limited space available so participants must register in advance. To register, go to eventbrite.com
