Rare comet makes a flyby over Tucson
Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas cuts a trail in the western skies Tuesday night over Tucson Mountain Park. The comet, which hasn’t been through these parts for some 80,000 years, should remain visible in the western skies shortly after sunset through Oct. 26, though it will be harder to see as the month goes on. After its Earth flyby, the rare comet will head out again toward the solar system’s outer fringes.
