Three people safely evacuated from an airplane that was off the runway and on fire at Ryan Airfield Saturday night, firefighters report.
When Drexel Heights Fire District crews arrived, they found the small, general aviation aircraft in flames, the district said in a news release Monday.
Ryan Tower confirmed that all three occupants had self-evacuated without injury before the emergency crews arrived, Drexel said in the release.
Firefighters from the district and the Tucson Airport Fire Department put the fire out.Â
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
