A fire that severely damaged a Tucson hotel early this morning was set intentionally, authorities said.
At about 3:30 a.m. Thursday a 911 call reported flames coming from the office at the Executive Inn & Suites, 333 W. Drachman St., Tucson Fire Department spokeswoman Capt. Tricia Tracy said.
The fire had completely engulfed the hotel's office when firefighters arrived, she said. Sixteen people were evacuated from the two-story hotel, but no injuries were reported, Tracy said.
The Copper Cactus Inn, 225 W. Drachman St., provided the hotel guests with rooms until repairs are completed at the damaged hotel, Tracy said.
The fire caused about $100,000 in damage, and no cause had been determined as of Thursday morning.
