Model Yvonne Gill was being fitted in an original Bob Mackie gown by none other than the designer himself. On Oct. 14, 1979, the award-winning designer was at Levy's department store preparing 14 models for the Tucson Symphony Women's Association annual fashion show fundraiser. The dress Mackie had chosen for Gill was one that he had designed for Diana Ross. His gowns were among the most exotic and widely exhibited costumes in the country.
