Trash trapper
One of two stormwater trash collection devices in a project spearheaded by the Sonoran Institute has been installed off of West Congress near the Tucson Convention Center. The device will help prevent trash after a storm from flowing into the Santa Cruz River. Another device is at Reid Park. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Thursday. The project was made possible by support from Cox Enterprises and Storm Water Systems.
A device to trap trash in stormwater before it flows into the Santa Cruz River has been installed off of West Congress near the Tucson Convention Center. A second device is at Reid Park. Together, the devices represent about $140,000 in donated equipment and support.
