There have been reports of record cold temperatures in Tucson Friday— in the Pima County Main Library.
The Joel D. Valdez Main Library at 101 N. Stone Ave. will be closed until a new part for the heating system is delivered from Phoenix.
Temperatures in the library Friday afternoon dropped below 60 degrees, according to Kenya Johnson a spokeswoman for the Pima County Public Library.
“We're not offering the best environment for our patrons and for getting the work done,” Johnson said.
It’s unclear how many people were in the library when it was closed or when it will be able to reopen.
Stay tuned for updates.
