For many Tucsonans, Nancy Fahringer was the voice of classical music in Tucson. She had the early-morning shift on KUAT-FM and woke up many Tucsonans with classical music and stories about her horse, Hobbs, and her dog, Soggy. For a Star profile, Fahringer was photographed in her KUAT studio on Sept. 25, 1989. She was a graduate of Bucknell University with a music education degree. When asked about her job, she commented, "A salary for playing great music and interviewing musicians? Irresistible." She left the station in 1993.
