The Tucson Firefighters Local 479 is holding its annual chili cook-off today at Reid Park.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the park’s bandshell.
All proceeds benefit the Tucson firefighters’ Adopt-a-Family Program, which assists needy families with clothing, food, toys and basic necessities during the holidays.
This year’s event will feature more than 750 gallons of chili to sample, food, live music, a kids’ zone, fire trucks and trick-or-treating for children.
Firefighters from all over Pima County will take part in the cook-off with more than 30 booths participating in the competition.
Admission is free, but chili is sold by the cup.
