A festive tradition returns to Tucson's veterans hospital this week, just in time for families in search of post-Christmas fun.
The Tucson Garden Railway Society will hold its annual holiday-themed model train show Tuesday through Thursday at the VA Medical Center, 3601 S. Sixth Ave.
The event, which is open to the public, features replicas spanning more than 100 years of railroad history.
Several trains run simultaneously on tracks set in landscapes and street-scapes from different eras. Railway Society members will be on hand to answer questions about the display and the history of rail travel in America.
The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday
The event will be in the hospital's R.E. Lindsey Jr. Auditorium, in Building 4.
