A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the killing of his elderly father and abuse of his mother, authorities say.
About 12:30 p.m.Monday, Golder Ranch firefighters responding to a reported cardiac arrest at a house near West Placita de la Poza and West Hardy Road found the body of Chris Lachmann, 73. Deputies then found Lachmann's 72-year-old wife with injuries consistent with assault, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
The wife, who was not named in the news release, was taken to a hospital.
Later that day detectives arrested the couple's son, Tyler Lachmann, in the 1550 block of West Grant Road near North Dragoon Avenue. Lachmann was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and domestic violence, vulnerable adult abuse, the release said.
