A fund has been set up to help cover funeral expenses for an 11-year-old girl who was accidentally shot and killed by her brother at their Oracle home on Saturday.
Savannah Stamps and her 9-year-old brother were at home when the boy shot her with a Glock 9 mm handgun, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Department, which is investigating the incident as an accident.
Their grandfather discovered Savannah lying on the living room floor after his son asked him to check on the children while he was at work, the report said.
She had no pulse. Medical personnel were called in but were unable to resuscitate her.
Savannah's brother, whose name has not been released, admitted to his grandfather that he shot his sister, but thought the gun was unloaded, the sheriff's report states.
