Watch: Officials investigating vacant house fire in midtown Tucson
Investigators with the Tucson Fire Department are looking into the cause of an early morning fire in a vacant home that started in a nearby tree. Crews arrived to the home in the area of East Grant Road and North Tucson Boulevard shortly before 2 a.m., and found that the tree fire reported by the 911 caller had spread to the back of the home. It took 23 firefighters nearly 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, with no injuries reported. Crews at the front of the house noted that the doors and windows were boarded up, and that the home was likely vacant.
