So, are you asking what the Club Championship is? The SBWGA-18 has three major tournaments annually (President’s Cup, Club Championship and Cactus Classic). The Club Championship is a low-gross tournament. Play is divided into three divisions, Club, Senior Club and Legends Club Championships and this year consisted of five flights based on handicap index. All players must complete all rounds from the designated tee boxes, with the Club and Senior Club divisions competing for three days and the Legends for two days. To play in the Senior Club division you must be 72 and the Legends division 80+. The Club Championship is open to all league members regardless of age.

Judy Melo and Sharon Kreutzen did a great job as co-chairs along with “many friends” who organized a fabulous awards party! Behind the scenes (as always) and keeping things moving smoothly were Carol Bidwell and Judy Fick. And thanks to Wendy Harn, Harn Legacy, major sponsor for this event.

Up next is the Quail Classic, our annual invitational, April 12-14. SBWGA members invite a guest. A lively welcome party kicks off the event. We have fun on and off the course with play day formats, music, delicious food, raffle and silent auction items…the list goes on and on…it is just fun! A big thank you to Maire Ryan the 2026 Quail Classic Chair and to the village of people who make this event such a success.

We will be winding down into the summer season shortly, but weekly competition and events will continue. Two upcoming play days include the SaddleBrooke Women’s Classic on May 26 and the Member/Guest event on July 7.
