The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke sponsored the first-ever trade fair at the San Manuel Community Center for members of the Copper Corridor communities. Entitled “Pathways to Possibility”, the Trade Fair not only featured employment and career opportunities but also scholarships for training. The Community Center was filled with a wide variety of displays and tables representing all kinds of future possibilities.
Students and parents, young adults, and career changers were encouraged to explore all the pathways to possibilities at the event. In addition to tables representing various businesses and career opportunities, participants were able to interact with the representatives. The atmosphere was electric. MC Pete Watson called out tickets to win prizes donated by local merchants. Local restaurants and businesses donated gift certificates. Fran Lowy made a lunch bag available to all participants. So there was plenty of delicious food for everyone.
Under the leadership of Bre Zientarski, the Vocational Services Committee developed the event. Bre stated that, “Real conversations took place. Young people and adults asked honest questions. Rotarians gained a deeper understanding of the community—its stories, struggles, and barriers. Tradespeople shared their paths, experiences, and encouragement.”
Students, young adults, and career changers gained firsthand insight into the opportunities available to them. The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke looks forward to serving the Copper Corridor with an even better Trade Fair next year.
What is Rotary? Rotary is made up of your friends and neighbors who have fun working together to make the world a better place. Rotary is the world’s largest volunteer organization and is found in more countries than the Red Cross, Starbucks, or McDonald’s. Together with our friends, we are working to make a difference and change lives.
The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke is an award-winning club. We meet on Thursdays at 11:00 for lunch at the Ranch House at SaddleBrooke Ranch. Next, we meet in the Ballroom, followed by an educational program or speaker. Rotary is open to those who live and work in SaddleBrooke, SaddleBrooke Ranch, and the surrounding communities.
