MountainView Preserve Women's Golf Association held their annual Member Guest, March 30-April 1st. This year's theme, ‘Swing with Bling’, was co-chaired by Kathy Fox and Lynda Coville-Mudd, had the helping hands of a number of wonderful volunteers, and was sponsored by Helen Graham Realty. The event kickoff was an afternoon putting contest (the course decorated with pearls, diamonds, and stilettos), followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, at MountainView.
The event agenda continued with two rounds of competitive golf, food, and fun for 36 members plus their guests. For the first round, held at The Preserve Golf Course, morning mimosas were served before teams teed off for their two-person Scramble. The ladies, dressed in tiaras and glitter, encountered ‘blingy’ tee markers, some mild winds on a beautiful golf day, and a buffet lunch. As a bonus, Assistant Golf Pro, Susie Geitl, did a live drive on Hole 8 for each team at the cost of $10 (which went towards the winnings for the players). Coville-Mudd said of Geitl, “Her drives soared down the fairways to areas we could only dream of!”

The second round was a Better Ball game at the MountainView Course. Day 2 was a bit more challenging, due to the cold and rainy morning. The weather cooperated mid-way through the round, and the ladies played some great golf.

Coville-Mudd said that although it was a lot of hard work organizing the event, by the 2nd round, “I felt like a weight was lifted, and I was just going to go out and have fun.” She also thanked her event co-chair for its success, describing Kathy Fox as “an amazing, take charge person, who didn’t even play in the event!” (It was Kathy’s idea to serve mimosas, and to have the delicious, individual Bundt cakes for the final event luncheon.)
