In early December, the SaddleBrooke Men’s Golf Association (SMGA) hosted its annual President’s Cup, drawing 81 competitors across eight flights based on handicap. The President’s Cup is a three-day individual tournament featuring daily flight winners as well as three-day cumulative flight champions.
Players enjoyed cooperative weather throughout the event, with above-average temperatures ranging from the low 40s in the mornings to the middle 70s during the afternoons.
The overall net champion was Frank Traczyk of the 8th Flight, who finished at even par. Ron Walter (+1) and Stan Manzanares (+2) claimed second and third place, respectively. Traczyk’s victory was anything but straightforward—he opened the tournament tied for seventh after the first round, surged into a three-way tie for first following round two, and then closed strong to secure sole possession of first place.
Great job, guys!
