If a red-light camera had been installed at the corner of Golf Links and Kolb last month, it would have caught four cars turning onto Kolb when the left-turn light had been red long enough for the green light for forward traffic on Kolb to have been on for 15 seconds. The last of the four law-breaking cars was a Tucson PD vehicle. The officer wasn't out to stop any of the previous three lawbreakers -- he was simply last in the line.
I wish the Star would research how many more accidents there have been at intersections since Prop 201 was passed by an ignorant Tucson majority.
People only obey laws when they know someone is watching. If that "someone" is a red-eye camera, with actual picture evidence, enforcement is much more efficient and effective.
