Hundreds of kids in Tucson are looking for adults to be their friends and mentors. The nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters program matches kids with adults who have similar interests, such as sports, reading and the outdoors.
"Bigs" and their "Littles" also have the chance to go on outings with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. They go camping and to ballgames and other events.
Being a Big Brother or Big Sister doesn't require spending a lot of money, and volunteers see a child at least twice a month.
To get started, volunteers can call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 624-2447 or visit the Web site www.tucsonbigs.org, where they can fill out an application online.
