Throughout history many men have come up with wise sayings. Many of these sayings contradictory. Emily Dickerson wrote " If you take care of the small stuff the large things will take care of themselves." Another saying is "Don't sweat the small stuff."
When I was a DOD police officer I had different lieutenants take different approaches. One believed that even robbers, murderers and rapists can forget to renew license plates. The other lieutenant believed that if people were fishing in a no fishing area, they weren't getting. Into any other mischief.
I personally believed that a person with expired plates was also driving without insurance.( many insurance companies will not cover a vehicle with expired tags.) If that vehicle would cause an accident there would be no accountability to the at fault driver.
Which method of policing is best? You decide.
