Walmart is putting the finishing touches on its latest Tucson-area superstore.
The retail giant plans to open its latest supercenter later this fall at Tucson Marketplace at The Bridges, a south-side retail development that is part of the nascent Arizona Bioscience Park at 36th Street and Kino Parkway.
Most of the new Walmart is completed, and workers are installing equipment in the 156,000-square-foot building at 1260 E. Tucson Market Place Blvd.
The retail giant hasn't announced an opening date for the store, but it is recruiting workers it says will start this month in preparation for the grand opening.
Walmart has opened a temporary hiring center to recruit 300 workers to staff the new store.
The temporary hiring center is at 1010 E. Palmdale St., Suite 104, off South Park Avenue near East Ajo Way. The center is accepting applications Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; all other weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Job seekers also can apply at careers.walmart.com online.

The job center will remain open until the jobs are filled, the company said.
According to store manager Brian Schield, the store will be hiring full- and part-time associates in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions.
