I am so saddened that this great Country of ours is separating children from their parents. I am infuriated that some of the rationale for this policy is supposedly “biblical.” While I have not studied the Bible much and I understand that it can be interpreted differently by different groups, yet some passages are extremely clear. Matthew 25: 35-40 (37-39 not below due to space constraints) is simple and would be a true and powerful biblical practice to follow.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
Another, non-biblical, yet equally powerful and simple practice is the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have done to you.”

Neither of these practices advocate separating families or treating human beings inhumanely.
